Can you please remove the watermark at the bottom, I do not like seeing logo's or names on a wallpaper. Personally I don't think watermarked images should be allowed in the wallpaper category.

Wait. There's a watermark on the wallpaper in the download? That made me not download. :( I liked this, too.

Yes, I watermark all my images. But those are previews. On my one wallpaper, there is no watermark. I have some icons on my desktop and I hate when things like words get covered up. Then I have to move my icons around so they don't. It's a sort of OCD, I guess.
The wall can't be too busy!

Hey!
Don't know if you get my other replies to this thread so if you didn't: I tried explaining the "whys" of tagging to the previous poster.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion that creatives who release their work free of charge to the public are not allowed to tag their work...

There are a bunch of people who release stuff free of charge because they like what they do. Marking images or personal stuff that you want to display for show is fine.

Releasing an image indented for customization should have no mark's, logo's, or names, unless it is part of the design. Any one who uses this wall with the water mark either is one hell of a fan of MadPotato or has no taste at all.

Bottom line great wall but ruined by watermark

Please note: This image does NOT have a watermark but simply a small tag at be bottom right corner of the image that reads "wallpaper - madPotato.de"!

That being said: Do not get me wrong, I wish I wouldn't have to include any form of tag on my images but I've been confronted with various forms of art theft over time. People have tagged my work as theirs, releasing it all over the net, sold it over eBay and other plattforms as prints / on art canvasas and even sold T-Shirts with my designs.
The fact that modern computer screens have such high resolutions means that the quality I have to supply you customizers with is in many cases fit for print as well. (unlicensed commercial prints being the main concern for me)

I do value your input - implementing the tag as part of the individual design is certainly a good point and I will experiment with more creative (and discreet) ways of tagging my works.

I do see you point but theft is part of life. You take the bad with the good. for instance a big player like icon block does not mark there wallpapers because they are wallpapers. My point is if you are not prepared to submit a wallpaper don't submit this as digital art.

I really cant imagine anyone using this the comments on here are based of there initial thought of this wall when they download and open it they are like fuck deleted. Like Windows for example you have a half blurred out name sticking from the date and time section of the task bar.

Plus if someone wanted to steal this that mark only prevents its use as a wallpaper it could be cropped and used for various things you described (if someone was retarded enough to steal art.

I agree with ~H-3-L-L-S-M-A-N. Someone could easily crop it out if they really wanted to steal it. But, to be honest, I don't feel like doing that just to use it as a wallpaper. I have several others. ;P
And I think water-marking is fine. I do it on my photos. But that is different. I am not releasing them as wallpapers. To me, a wallpaper is kind of like a gift. You release it with no marks or anything for free. If people steal, oh well. Go nag on their page. Sue them. Do what you want. But when someone downloads a wall, it's like just another piece of art, only a higher resolution (and generally.. sans the "tag").

Well I did crop it for use on my HDTV but I was originally going to use it from my 2560x1600 monitor. But this has run its time even it it dident have a huge name printed in the bottom left comer I would have probably have changed it by now. But it still would have been a good wallpaper to add to my collection.
