Tutorial request programme-what's it gonna be

Journal Entry: Sun May 11, 2008, 4:21 AM
Hello everyone,

before I get to the point, let me thank all of you nice people here at dA for supporting my work and always getting back to me with a thoughtful comment or an inspirational idea. I am not the kind of guy who responds to every comment (as it seems like an unfair method of promoting the deviation) but let me assure you that each and every comment / critique / watch is appreciated!

//end preamble//

I know that a lot of you folks' attention has been drawn to me by my tutorials. Apart from the obvious reason that they generate traffic / visitors for my portfolio (talk about being honest :)) they are one of the many possibilities of giving back to the community by sharing some of my techniques and approaches at Photoshop, 3D-modeling, vector-illustration and fractal-generation.

This month I want to give you guys the chance to have a say in what topic this month's tutorial is going to be about! Whether you want to know how I created a certain effect in one of my deviations or want to learn about some crazy effect / technique / style you have seen somewhere on the net - now is the time to ask!

Depending on how many good ideas you guys supply me with I might also consider them in the tutorial issues to come. If you are interested in CSS, xHTML and PHP (possibly have questions on how I created effects / concepts of my website) post them away - I'm thinking about extending my tutorials to webdesign-related topics as well.

Have a great day and go get some sun for heaven's sake :)

your artworks are full of life and good light effects ... i'd especially like to know the process of creation of your art ... which stocks you use and how you turn them into the finished product. as far as i am concerned the light effects would be worth a tutorial =)

I'd be lying if I said that I had expected such a small amount of replies :)

Luck for you guys, I'll think about making a tutorial on how to turn a white Photoshop-Canvas into a fully functional, xHTML- and CSS-validated website.

I might also do a tutorial on light effects. (Check out my "Digital Illustration Tutorial" -> [link] for some hints and also a kind of walk-through for that particular illustration).

Hey mate,

glad to be of help - it's always a pleasure to share knowledge and help out others...

The webdesign-series is in the making (it's probably going to be three tutorials: 1.) Design in Photoshop - 2.) Port to xHTML and CSS - 3.) Coding scripts in PHP, some security-/spam-protections-tips and basic SEO-concepts) but I'm currently extremely busy with commissioned work so that the release of the first tutorial is going to be slightly delayed.

There's also going to be more tutorials on digital illustration in the future...

All the best and thanks for your comment
